Overweight since childhood,I spent most of my 30's tipping the scales around 250lbs. At age 41 I took charge of feeding myself by preparing all of my own meals, no more fast foods! I created a way to use my love of cooking, food, and eating to permanently lose over 100lbs. During this time I discovered kettlebells and my own style of training The Kettlebell Swing, bringing out my inner athlete and erasing all signs of former lifelong obesity. It's never too late, YOU CAN DO IT!

"The Swing" Facebook fan page
Good-ness! I'm divided between my blog and my facebook fan page! If you want the "short stories" be sure to check out and "like" "The Swing's" FB fan page.
Tracy, a question if I may: about your sock things for hands, is there a brand of sock that you find works best? I bought a pack of socks at Target yesterday -- champion brand, I think -- and after cutting the cuff off, I was left with a fraying mess that shed bits of sock everywhere. It would be great to find socks that don't shred as much, if they exist. Thank you!!
Nike socks at Marshalls -- good to know! I live in the boondocks with no local Marshalls, but I'll be travelling soon and will make it a point to find one. I cut the cuffs off a pair of Smartwool crew socks and they did very well (tighter weave, like you said), but they won't last forever. At $17 per pair, I need to find a more economical alternative!
One more question: You teach classes, right? Is your schedule online somewhere and does it allow for out-of-town guests? My husband has been traveling to northern California regularly and I'm thinking about tagging along one of these days :)
I, for one, hope you keep the blog. What would I do without the (now famous) "garage" workout videos!
ReplyDeleteFB is kind of getting on my nerves lately...
Ditto on what Diana said. Both about keeping the blog and on FB getting on my nerves. :)
ReplyDeleteGuys...don't worry, the blog is not going anywhere. It's just that it's easier to put up a short blurb about my everyday stuff on FB.
ReplyDeleteYou guys know from talking with me in person that I'm not a woman of few words! I can go on and on, and on, and on....
Blog fan, too!

Hi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteI am currently loving Nike childrens socks I get at Marshalls. I know what you mean about the fraying and the Nike brand seems to be a tighter weave.
And thanks for the support!

ReplyDeleteKimberly,
ReplyDeleteNO.....don't cut $17 socks! Well, I would but let's try and avoid it. Look at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Nike-Kids-Performance-Socks-3-Pair/dp/B003X3CA2M/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1343270220&sr=8-5&keywords=Nike+boys+socks
either size should work, but I'd probably order the Med.
Thanks a million, Tracy!
