Pressure Cooking on OPRAH!

Just FYI......

I rarely watch the Oprah Show, but I happen to catch an episode with 3 celebrity Chefs, Tyler Florence, Curtis Stone and Ingrid Hoffman competing in a "sandwich showdown". Each had to come up with an original new sandwich recipe.....and guess who won? Tyler Florence with a pork shoulder pot roast he did in a.....ta da....pressure cooker! His Pot Roast Sandwich w/Cranberry Onion Jam beat a lobster and a crabcake sandwich. There you go....you heard it here first LOL!

  1. Wow, Tracy that is so exciting. I just emailed Tyler to see if I might talk to him some more about pressure cooking. I have been seeking a celebrity chef and I know Tyler from Facebook.
You know that I'm not going for the pork but just the fact that it was there is great.
    Happy New Year.

I have been swinging the 12kg, and 16kg a lot... and a 12lb sledgehammer--know how idea how empowering it feels to beat down a tire till i did it.

    Best to you and Mark

  3. Jill,

One of my favorite TV shows, is Top Chef, and because the Chefs are always on a timed challenge, I wonder why none of them has pulled out the pressure cooker!

Tyler's comment about using the PC for this Sandwich Showdown was that he only had 1 hour. In fact when he first described the ingredients of the sandwich, "pot roast", I immediently thought....."perfect for the pressure cooker"....no sooner did I think that, when he said, "done in the pressure cooker"

I'm telling you it's the next big thing....again! As soon as people get over the fear, which is why I encourage regular practice. Pick a recipe and do it to death until it becomes second nature and effortless!

  4. Hey Regina!

Details, details! How did you change your food to finally get that scale moving in the right direction?

A sledgehammer.....now why doesn't that surprise me? LOL

As far as being a bit behind reading posts...I'm a bit behind writing them! Happy New Year

  5. Tracy,

I would not say do it to DEATH (more fear factor) but do it endlessly until it becomes second nature.
I can only hope that you are right about the pressure cooker. Like anything else, it's habit. It's at the top of my mind, and probably yours.
I had better get to working on my PC book --maybe NOW.
